The projects for the rehabilitation and enhancement of Cabo da Roca and for the restoration of the natural environmental conditions in Cabo Sardão/Entrada da Barca have as objectives the requalification and protection of these sections of coastline.
This project is about enhancing two emblematic sections of the Portuguese coastline, providing the necessary structures to properly welcome visitors, with path planning projects, adequate parking areas, environmental communication and information and the recovery of autochthonous vegetation.
The intervention in Cabo da Roca took place between 2008 and 2011. The project for Polis Litoral Sudoeste began in 2011 but was preceded by a Plan for the Management and Planning Operative Unit of Cabo Sardão – Entrada da Barca, developed in 2002 for the then Nature Conservation Institute (ICN).
