New book by Sofia de Melo Gomes
The book “Roman occupation in the Alqueva watershed: from the Ajuda bridge to the old Mourão bridge – A proposal of landscape reconstruction”, coordinated by Sofia de Melo Gomes (archaeologist who has been working in Nemus since 2004), was recently published.
This publication, with 324 pages and many illustrations, presents the results of the archaeological works that took place between 1998 and 2003 in an area that was later submerged by the largest artificial lake in Europe, which was created by the Alqueva dam.
The book is the 8th volume of a collection of 14 volumes called “Odiana’s memoirs”, published by EDIA (the company responsible for the Alqueva dam).
Nemus congratulates Sofia de Melo Gomes for this long awaited publication and is proud to count on her experience and professionalism which is highly appreciated by the whole technical team.
